Spring In-Person Scott County Training Starts April 18

This in-person training class is for anyone wanting to serve as a CASA volunteer in Scott County, or anyone wanting to serve in CASA of Lexington’s service region who is willing to travel to Scott County for your training. All classes on this schedule are held on Saturdays.

Classes will be held April 18 to May 23, 2026, at the Scott County CASA of Lexington office, 109 N. Court St. in Georgetown, KY 40324.

In order to participate in this training class, you must submit a volunteer application, submit to background checks, and complete an initial interview.

  • 9 AM-4 PM Saturday, April 18: Introducing the CASA Volunteer Role; the Well-Being of the Child

  • 9 AM-4 PM Saturday, April 25: Trauma, Resilience, and Communication Skills; Mental Health and Poverty

  • 9 AM-4 PM Saturday, May 9: Substance Abuse and Cultural Competence; Domestic Violence and Diversity

  • 9 AM-4 PM Saturday, May 16: Educational Advocacy, Older Youth, and LGBTQ Youth; Working a Case and Court Reporting

  • 9 AM-12 PM Saturday, May 23: Wrap Up and Volunteer Panel

  • 1 PM Friday, May 29: Graduation
