Pastor Edward Palmer is leading community members to an improved personal and collective understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion through the training The Intersection of Race and Culture: Avoiding Cultural Collisions. Participants will be given tools to move forward together to ensure just and fair inclusion for all members of our community.

This is the second topic in his training series and should be completed by those who have already completed the Implicit Bias Training. Note that this training will be conducted virtually via Zoom.

Empathy and Emotional Intelligence for Inclusive Advocacy

Many from across the network raved about the session Dr. Fletcher led during 2021 CASA Week, "Strategies for Building Belonging in Everyday Advocacy." This session will go in more depth on the topics of empathy and emotional intelligence and how these skills are useful in all CASA advocacy, but especially when working with minoritized populations. Dr. Fletcher will introduce these topics, help advocates cultivate these skills, and apply the discussion to challenging scenarios CASA volunteers may encounter.
