Friends of CASA Program
Friends of CASA help support the mission of CASA of Lexington in many different ways outside of our traditional volunteer role. If you don’t have the time to commit to being a CASA volunteer, or if you feel the role isn’t right for you right now, becoming a Friend of CASA is a great way you can still help children in need!
There are no special requirements to be a Friend of CASA — you just need a heart for helping kids! You can let us know in the form below what interests and skills you have, and what areas you would be interested in helping with. You can also ask for more information about our traditional CASA volunteer role if you’re uncertain whether you’d like to be a CASA volunteer, a Friend of CASA — or both! (Friend of CASA interpreters must complete a background check and take an oath of confidentiality)
Friends of CASA roles
Friends Event Team — This team fills volunteer shifts at fundraising events such as Bourbon and the Bayou and the CASA Superhero Run.
Friends Mail Team — This team helps hand-address and prepare mailings to our donors.
Friends Interpreter Team — This team consists of people who are fluent in English and at least one other language. They help us better serve children whose family members do not speak English or communicate better in their native language. Friends of CASA interpreters must be at least 18 years old, pass the same background checks as CASA volunteers and be sworn in by a judge before they can be assigned to a case.
