This online training for new CASA volunteers consists of seven virtual training sessions held over Zoom. Participants will also complete self-guided learning modules on their own time.

In order to participate in this training class, you must submit a volunteer application, submit to background checks, and complete an initial interview.

6:00-8:30 PM Sunday, July 19 – Session 1.1: Initial meeting and getting to know you

6:00-8:30 PM Monday, July 20 – Session 1.2: Introduction to Foundational Coursework

6:00-8:30 PM Monday, July 27 – Session 2: The Bleux Case & Child Development

6:00-8:30 PM Tuesday, Aug. 4 – Session 3: The Greene Case, Mental Health, & Poverty

6:00-8:30 PM Monday, Aug. 10 – Session 4: The Amarillo Case, Substance Abuse, Domestic Violence, and Introduction to the Court Report

6:00-8:30 PM Monday, Aug. 17 – Session 5: The Redd Case, Court Report Writing, & Recommendations

6:00-8:30 PM Monday, Aug. 24 – Session 6: The Court Process & Final Wrap Up

A swearing-in ceremony and graduation will be scheduled at a later date. Participants will also complete court observation and final interviews, which will be scheduled individually.
